How To Draw A Bearded Dragon

Welcome back guys! Today I'll be showing you how to draw a bearded dragon. Bearded dragons are one of the most popular reptiles kept as pets today. They have big personalities, and love attention. So, without further intro, grab a pencil and paper and let's learn how to draw a bearded dragon!

How To Draw A Bearded Dragon Step 1

Step 1

The first step in drawing our bearded dragon is to draw two large oval shapes, one on top of the other. The top oval will be for the bearded dragon's head, and the bottom oval will be for the body.

Next, draw a couple wavy lines connecting the two ovals to form the bearded dragon's wrinkly neck. Also, draw a small eye near the top of the head, and a very tiny circle for the bearded dragon's nostril.

Draw a thin line starting at the front of the bearded dragon's face, continuing about halfway down the length of the head for its mouth. Behind the mouth, draw a circle for the bearded dragon's ear.

Next we will need to draw our bearded dragon's two stocky front legs, and a small oval in the back for the rear leg. At the end of each of the dragon's legs, draw five sharp claws.

Draw a long tail extending outward behind your bearded dragon. Feel free to make his tail pretty long.

At this point the majority of the bearded dragon is complete. All we have left to do now is to give him some scales for a little texture. Also, draw plenty of spikes around the bottom part of the bearded dragon's head to form his "beard" from which he gets his name!

Give your bearded dragon a little bit of color. Beardies are naturally a sandy color, but with selective breeding due to their popularity as pets, they actually come in many different colors such as red, yellow, and even a purplish-blue color too!
